ZEI christmas party

Its that time of year again and ZEI went above and beyond expectations for our annual christmas party.  It was at the Holiday Inn and the food was amazing.  My favorite was the sweet potato marshmallow casserole. (I know I'm weird).  We did a talent show this year and I made up some lyrics to the song "Nuttin for Christmas" to fit our work environment.  You probably won't think the words are funny unless you work for an eye doctor but oh well!  Here is the video clip of the performance.

Leaves and more leaves!

Leaves are falling! D is having so much fun playing in all the leaves. GMK would like him to rake them up but that's no fun. After raking all the leaves into a pile, he realized he didn't have enough so he went to a neighbors house with a wheelbarrow and loaded up all their leaves and brought them to our house (7 wheelbarrows full). It took him 2 hours to get all the loads back to our house. Then S, HC, and D spent an hour jumping into the leaves. Who needs toys! The other pics of LT and D are from 2 years ago! How time flies!

Graham cracker houses

We have a tradition that after every Thanksgiving, we make graham cracker houses. We started out about 4 years ago and they were pretty simple then. As the years go on, they are getting a little more creative and sophisticated. At the jubilee of trees this year, I saw some cool ideas for the houses and we tried to implement some of them. One was a fence made from pretzel sticks. It was a lot harder than it looked! After an hour of working on the fence, I was finally satisfied. It didn't last long...D broke it within the first half hour of having them done. Fortunately, we took pictures right after we finished so there is proof I did it! We also tried using cereal for the roof this year. I think they turned out nicely. D loved working the frosting tube and G's creativity came out in her landscaping!

Halloween 2008

G really wanted to be Padme from Star Wars and so I got on ebay and found what I thought was her size in a Padme costume. When it finally arrived, I realized it didn't fit her but it fit me! I went on a local hunt for a costume her size and found it in the mall. I decided since I had an adult size costume of Padme, I should wear it. That is how G and I were the same thing this year. GMK decided to play the part and be Anakin Skywalker, D wanted nothing to do with Star Wars and was a motorcycle racer. S didn't care so I put him in an old superman costume that I had. He loved it and wanted to wear it all day long!

GMK and I went to a Halloween party hosted by my friend KF from work. There wasn't much to do there so GMK and I ended up playing guitar hero pretty much the whole time. Good times. I finally learned how to play it though. It is addicting and very fun. Can you tell I have never held a guitar in my hands before?
