These are pics from the long awaited St. George triathlon that I have been training for since November of last year!  Mostly trying to learn how to swim.  Well, they cancelled the swim because of the wind and tacked on another 5K.  So we did a 5K then a 15 mile bike ride and then a 2nd 5K.  Umm, I did not run much in my training.  I just figured I could run a 5K in my sleep...Well, I learned my lesson for sure.

New Years

Its the celebration of another year!  We were invited to the Rogers home for a party.  We were required to dress up and so I got to wear my party dress again.  S wanted to do my hair and make-up and I relented and let her "doll" me up.  There were 4 couple there and we played a truth/lie game and a version of the Newleywed game.  At some point during the evening, I was laughing so hard, my stomach hurt.  What's with G's hair?  What a great way to ring in the new year.  Bring it on 2009!

Christmas 2008

We took a family vote and the majority decided to sleep up at grandma's house Christmas Eve and spend Christmas morning up in Winchester.  We went up Christmas Eve and had a great dinner of clam chowder, shrimp, and salmon with coleslaw with plenty of pumpkin and chocolate cream pie.  We then read the Christmas story from the bible and played and sang some Christmas songs and watched "Ana's Bell".  The kids got to open one present, which was new pajamas.  We awoke Christmas morning to fresh snow on the ground!  The kids were so excited because their big gift from Santa was a Razor motorcycle and S got a tricycle.  They couldn't ride it outside because it was too wet, so they were racing it around Grandma's house all day.  They also got a trampoline from Grandma, Brian Regan tickets from Mom for his show in May, calendars, clothes, cardboard blocks from Grandma, and homemade pillowcases from their other Grandma in Price.  Grandma made homemade cinnamon rolls and we had a bounteous feast midday of Prime rib, Ham, and Turkey with mashed potatoes and plenty of pie.  It was a wonderful celebration.

D 6th bday

D turned 6 on December 18th and he got the best birthday present ever!  He got a lot of snow...so much of it that they cancelled school!  He thought that was great.  Of course, his sister was very upset about missing school.  How different they are.  I had to work that day so the kids played in the snow all day and then we had his party that night.  We invited our neighbors over, KC and SB for dinner and Grandma was there was well as Uncle D.  He wanted Lasagna and bread sticks for his b-day dinner.  He invited 2 friends over for cake and ice cream, BJ and HC.  I made him a special ice cream cake as well.  It was a soccer ball!  Aunt J and family could not be there because they left for Hawaii that day.  Some of the things he got were a bike ramp, Pixos, hot wheels car crusher, star wars legos, activity book, and new sneakers w/velcro.

G turns 9

Happy Birthday, my first born!  I can't believe you are already 9 years old!  We had a fun party.  Grandma and Aunt J came over for dinner.  G wanted to have steak and homemade french fries and I borrowed a cake pan from my neighbor BC and made a homemade ice cream cake.  Those that know me know that was a stretch for me!  It turned out really good and it tasted good, too!  I let G invite 3 friends over for cake and ice cream and she invited TJ, MS, and TL.  G got an Ipod, a monkey littlest pet shop, Pixos, monkey deco pet, clothes, chapstick, monkey keychain, School of Rock the movie, and a magnet calendar from her cousin JA.  I took balloons to her classroom that day and brought in rootbeer floats for her class.

ZEI christmas party

Its that time of year again and ZEI went above and beyond expectations for our annual christmas party.  It was at the Holiday Inn and the food was amazing.  My favorite was the sweet potato marshmallow casserole. (I know I'm weird).  We did a talent show this year and I made up some lyrics to the song "Nuttin for Christmas" to fit our work environment.  You probably won't think the words are funny unless you work for an eye doctor but oh well!  Here is the video clip of the performance.
